D.I. Duncan McAdam returns to his home on the remote and atmospheric Isle of Skye after nearly two decades away, confronting both the long-held secrets of the island inhabitants alongside the ghosts of his past.

Ably assisted by a small team of semi-dysfunctional detectives, Duncan finds a lot has changed since he last set foot on Skye, but the centuries old island approach of both taking care of their own and dealing with conflict themselves is never too far beneath the surface.
