Hands up who saw the challenges of 2020 coming when the bells chimed midnight on the New Year’s Eve 2019?
No, neither did I…
This year has certainly thrown us some real challenges, many of which some of us have already started to head back towards some vision of normal. Others, like myself, are slowly popping their head tentatively out of the burrow like a Meercat to try and see what is going on.
You will have noticed that during this lockdown period I have been quite productive. This is true, two books in my HIDDEN NORFOLK series have been released so far this year, in April and June respectively – KILL OUR SINS & TELL NO TALES – and both have been well received, smashing all personal records with any of my previous books. Besides that ONE LOST SOUL has been in and around the UK Amazon Top 20, reaching #7 in the whole store which was a pleasant surprise!

The eagle-eyed among you will know that Book 5 – HEAR NO EVIL is scheduled for publication at the end of September.
“Any chance of that coming earlier?” – I hear one or two people ask if I listen carefully… Well, funny you should mention it, yes! The book is currently with the editing team and will more than likely be released in August, sooner rather than later.More of that productivity I mentioned before. Whereas we might be thinking about holidays or trips out with the kids, we’ve been at home and I have found writing, besides being a passion, is a welcome distraction to the troubled world we are living in right now.
So I thought I’d let you know what to expect from me in the remainder of the year.
Besides Norfolk Book 5, the first three audiobooks for the series will start to come out in the next few months and the series is also undergoing translation into German. This is my first foray into foreign translations and I am very excited about them. If they are as well received in Germany as they have been everywhere else, then I will be very pleased.
What else is happening? The Dark Yorkshire series is still generating interest in the television world although COVID has hampered the industry somewhat. However, the Norfolk books are also attracting a great deal of interest, so expect an announcement on that in the coming months as well.
What about writing?
I have two projects on the go, another book in the Hidden Norfolk series as well as something I am working on for DI Caslin and his Yorkshire team. Caslin may well be revisiting an old case… but I will leave that little tease there for now. More later…
