The Dark Yorkshire series sees its latest addition in the form of Blood Money, released on 13th December this year. In recent years, it has become highly visible how vast sums of money have been transferred between economies over the last two decades. Not necessarily via corporations, in the business dealings which are an ever present, but vast sums changing hands to acquire prestigious residential addresses, iconic buildings or even football clubs.
Many of these transactions are to raise business profiles, others to boost the buyer’s image and demonstrate their wealth or importance. Then there are the others… those who need such transactions for altogether different purposes. Just recently, a person has been investigated as to how she was able to spend millions in the space of a few weeks on material goods – without having a clear path back to where the funds originated. This is not necessarily a British issue but one faced across the world as global finance provides the ability to shield prying eyes from the real source of the income. Money generated through means that we are not to know about because if we did, we wouldn’t like what we see and would do everything in our power to stop it.
There are those who spend millions across multiple jurisdictions to try and ensure the general public don’t know where their money is or how it is generated. Every now and again, someone steps forward with a shining light and these people retreat to the shadows… on occasion, rather than run, they attempt to put the light out…
Book 4 in the Dark Yorkshire Series – Blood Money- is inspired by these events and is a captivating journey into the darker elements of our society. Early feedback has been very positive and I believe it is a worthy addition to the series. Let me know what you think, once you’ve had the chance to read it.
